On Spoilers and other things
Jun. 1st, 2004 05:30 amHarry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban does not open in Australia until June 10th. This is a significant time after the rest of the world get it. So you're not going to spoil me. Not once. Not for any 'insignificant' detail. And if you do, I'm going to round up other Australian fans and come and . . . well do something!
I bought
lizbee's birthday present last night. Shiny . . .
I also bought the second half of Buffy Season Six. I'm not allowed to watch until my assignment is finished.
But . . . All my SOSE assessment is done! Complete! I'm a real person again.
To celebrate everyone should tell me which university or school subject (or LK classes
sangerin *g*) they really detested/detest

on 2004-05-31 06:44 pm (UTC)Uni-wise, I spent most of the Honours subject Studies in the Essay: Post-structuralism in tears. Not the fault of the lecturer/tutor or subject matter so much as wanky male students who were convinced they understood Derrida inside out and no one else did, and I was a naive, dumb little idiot for not understanding and preferring feminist epistemology and mystorical writing anyway. I used to curl up with Derrida and howl, because I knew it would always, always look like densely written crap to me, and that I was irredeemably stupid. The lecturer kept me in by promising me that they were bluffing, and I guess she was right, as I topped the class... but I think that was when my academic confidence crumbled and was the first step to my nervous breakdown, so definitely most detested class.
