Just wanted to say thank you to Christine. The story she beta-d hasn't seen the light yet, but the advice she gave me on it has been invaluable and has reignited my interest in writing.

"I knew you'd be here." CJ sat next to Josh and watched a car pass them.

"It's my home, CJ. I happen to live here."

"Only occasionally." She handed him a beer. "And I was talking about these steps. I knew you'd be out here."

"There was a thing." He held the cold beer in both hands, watching drips of water drip over his fingers.

"I thought so." She pointed to the remaining beers at her feet. "Thus the beer."

"You're a goddess."

"So they keep telling me."

Josh opened his beer and drank from it slowly. "We broke up."

"Yeah."

He looked at her. "You knew?"

"I suspected. I kinda expected it to happen."

"Well . . . it happened."
