Just some of my titles. We don't want to be here all night.
26 Ways to Find Loneliness - The title that got the story kicked of ff.net (they thought it was a list). I wanted to go through CJ's alphabet of men, and I was listening to Simon and Garfunkle's 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover. 26 Ways just came naturally after that.
Abstract Paintings on a Yankees T-Shirt - I wanted to show CJ's isolation as well as her link to the past. The pasat as Toby, therefore a Yankee's T-Shirt (which CJ keeps wearing in the fic) The Abstract paintings are also in the fic - showing how displaced CJ is. (Oh, deep)
Apologia - I had the name before the fic. I was studying Plato's Apologia in Ancient Greek, and loved the thought that it was a defense speech, not an apology.
Drowning in Fountain Spray - Go on. Look at the scene at the end of War Crimes. There's a whomping big fountain there. And everyone's drowning in it. Well Josh and Donna are anyway.
Every Good Boy Deserves Fruit - A sound fic named after the rhyme we learnt in music at school.
Something Comfortable in an Unlit Room - I wanted something that didn't quite fit. Like Josh and Ainsley don't really fit.
Thin Whine through Sober Eyes - The companion piece to Abstract Paintings. It needed a similarly distracted name and I wanted to push the lack of alcohol in his 'new' life.
Tear Stains and Tooth Marks - Well, what a monster this fic produced. There's a lot of crying in this fic, all over Snape. The tooth marks was a illusion to the new marks that Hermione was leaving on him.
Explaining Death to a Dog - A title borrowed from a book. Amanda dared me the write the story. It just seemed right for Sirius.
So there's the good ones. I love finding good titles for my stories, using quotes and other good things to get them
