I'm so excited. I've never been able to write m/m slash, and I've never written a serious crossover, but I was inspired last night. So this is what I've come up with so far:

"So . . ." Josh collected his drink, handing a crumpled bill across the bar. "What are you doing in this city?"

"I'm tracking my demons. Attempting to fight them." The stranger gulped his drink and smirked. "Fighting the good fight."

"You never win here."

He nodded. "I'm beginning to believe that."

"I'm Josh Lyman." He picked up his glass, examining the shine from the amber liquid.

"Wesley Wyndam-Price"

"Where are you from?"

"Los Angeles."

"Ah, the city of Angels."

"Yes." Angels and devils and demons beyond your wildest dreams, Mr. All American White Bread.

"Why did you leave?"

"I grew tired of the beautiful people. They can be frightfully scary."

Josh nodded. "Nothing stays beautiful for long in this town. We have quite an effect on beautiful things."

"You like to destroy beauty?"

"Yeah - well not me personally. It's the atmosphere in the city."

Wesley pushed his glass across the table. "The air rising from the swamp."

"Moral of the story - never build your nation's capital on a swamp."

"I'll note that for future reference."

Josh ginned and signalled for another drink. "So Wesley," he leant forward, looking to ensure no one was listening in. "do you do this a lot?"

"What?"

"Pick up strange men in bars?"

Wesley chuckled. "The women have stopped looking at me."

"No they haven't." Josh ran his finger around the rim of his glass. "I caught three or four of them looking when you came in." Drawn by his englishness, or his three day stubble.

"Well then, maybe I just stopped looking at them." Wesley emptied half his drink. "I haven't been the luckiest man."

"Do you always drink so much?"

"Do you?"

"Yes."

Wesley smiled, a strange half smile that caused the bar tender to stare. "So if you believe that I am here to pick up strange men, why haven't you left yet?"

Josh raised the glass to his lips. "I like the view."

"Are you going to take me home with you?"

Josh shrugged. "I don't know. Will you be there when I wake up in the morning?"

"Who says we have to sleep?"

"I like the way you think."

"I'm known as a deep thinker."

"Yeah."

Ooh, I like it, I like it. There's crossover hope yet!
