A thought that I found when I was cleaning my room . . .

"You're evil." Snape couldn't help the escaping chuckle. "I like that in a woman."

The left edge of Sinistra's lip rose a little. "Are you coming onto me, Snape?"

Snape shuffled his feet, feeling like a student in trouble. "It is a distinct possibility. I can't deny that."

"Aw, that's sweet. But I'm afraid I'm involved in an intense relationship with Trelawny. We've been seeing each other for a while now . . ."

"You're seeing another witch?"

"Come into the twentieth century, Snape. It's a perfectly valid lifestyle choice."

Y'know, I do like that. Snape is appropriately snarky, and Sinistra matches him. I approve.

That's good - now I've just got to find a plot to aim it somewhere . . .

Lina, can I add some dialogue?

"Come into the twentieth century, Snape. It's a perfectly valid lifestyle choice."

Slytherins never blushed, but his discomfort must have been apparent, because Sinistra chuckled. She had a lovely, deep chuckle, like old wine, or rare spirits.

"I've shocked you, haven't I."

"I--"

"It's a rare thing, I expect. Shocking a former Death Eater. I'll have to tell Sybil."

"How can you be sure that she doesn't know already?"

"Touche."

***

(Can I also be beta-ish and point out that people would rarely describe their own relationship as 'intense'. Try 'serious'.)

(Not that I'm hijacking your fic or anything.)

We should work on this one together - I love the additions. I wrote another fragment today, which had Trelawny making some prediction and Snape asking Sinistra how she dealt with it. To which Sinistra replies:

"You get used to it pretty quickly." Sinistra put her head close to Snape's. "Wait until you hear her dirty predictions."

Now, how about this.

Severus took a sip of tea. "Minerva? Did you know about Sinistra and Trelawny?"

Minerva sniffed. "I can't possibly imagine what Selene sees in that fraud." She chuckled into her tea. "Filius thinks it's the incense ... caused poor Selene to take leave of her senses."

"Flitwick knows? Am I the last to find out, then?"

"Well, I don't think Professor Sprout knows."

"Best not to tell her," Snape decided. "Hufflepuffs are easily embarrassed."

"Or," Minerva suggested with a very small smile, "we could wait until she's taken a bite, and then tell her."

"I think the Weasley twins are a bad influence."

Hee! I like it . . .

Now we just need a plot . . . do we need a plot?
