In a moment of political geekery, just moments after my last post, I squeed when I saw my first negative ad of the 2007 campaign. Not because I like negative ads. I just like politics.

Apparently when it comes to the economy, Wayne Swan and Kevin Rudd are learners and Julia Gillard is a nasty unionist.

That was kinda predictable wasn't it?

I suppose we should be surprised by the fact it started negative, but then, this is Howard.

(I need more political icons)

The whole experience thing is so stupid. That would mean there would never be a change in government (which since the Libs think they were born to rule they would be quite happy with).

One of the recent polls asked whether the economy would be better under Labor or Liberal. More said Libs, but the majority said the economy would be the same no matter who was in. So looks like the reality that the government actually has little influence on the state of the economy has finally got through. The economists/markets said last election it wouldn't make any difference.

I'm just worried...trying not to get my hopes up, disappointed too many times before.

I think it will be really good for me that I won't be able to watch most of the election night coverage. I won't leave the concert until 10pm and then I think I'll drive home rather than staying at my parents' place.

I can't think about an election when I'm stressed over other things.

Came here from friends friends.

He had at least two years to think up biting negative ads and this is what he comes up with? And when on Earth is he going to call the next election? Accept the fact that you are probably in the list of Australia's Most Hated In Politics and announce it!

*g* I'm one of those strange people who was attached to newsradio all day waiting . . .

The whole ad kind of has the sophistication of a grade seven debate. Though, they have to be nicer.

The TV ads have the aesthetics of a three-year-old. Such a jumble of colour and with the heads of Julia Gillard and arrows pointing towards her saying something that hints about 'ebil mean cat lady'
