OK. Deep breath. Here we go.

3.10

I've been dreading this episode for a while.

I like the little girl skipping at the beginning - it's a nice bit of regular every day life.

The dynamic between Adam and Fiona is really nice here - it's lost some of the harsher edges by now, which of course happens when they get a better idea of who Fiona is. But why target Adam and Fiona? How did they know to turn to those two? Am I missing something that I'll answer later in the episode.

(Why do I now have Danny/Fiona plot bunnies?)

"I'm not a mole!" "I'm glad to hear that" - Ruth and Harry flirting again! Adam and Ruth are still funny together.

OK. We get it. These are very bad people and this episode is not going to end well.

I wonder why Fiona likes birthdays so much? But this scene really is beautiful, with the present giving and the slight doubts at the end and the hope that there might be some kind of 'normal' in their life.

DON'T GO IN!

Adam's always so open when he talks about himself and Fiona. It's like he's a small child and Fiona's some kind of marvellous, unexpected present he's received.

Why are they targeting the security forces and not the military? Is it because they know Adam can get their human bomb where they need her? There seems to be plot holes here.

Zaf! I forgot he came in 3.10. He's got such a lovely connection with Sam and Ruth from the beginning. I really wish Sam had stayed now to see how the two of them would have continued to connect. Harry's got his normal distrust of the young.

It's Wes!

They never even learn Danny's name - he's constantly referred to as the 'other MI5 agent' - in a way it's like Zoe and Tom - Zoe ended as Agent X, Tom ended as Mike. They take on different personas all the time - they don't even get their own names as they leave.

Nice way to get a message across Adam.

The plot holes are killing me. Your family was killed by an American bomb, so you target an English couple.

"Somethings wrong." "How do you know?" "You knocked" - HEEEEE!!! Ruth and Harry are so perfect there - Ruth just absolutely opens herself to him to make him see that there's a problem going on.

I love the way Zaf wins Harry over so easily.

Oh Danny. Oh Fiona. Danny has no problem killing here, does he :(

The tricky bit, of course, is that they ensured that the PM would be at the reception.

Nice to see the government has no problem having British citizens killed if they're highly trained security officers who've done a lot for the country . . .

Oh . . . we didn't get the Eeyore's birthday bit on ABC - and it's so lovely.

The blurring around the edges with the light is just wonderful. And the building of the music. You just know that there's no way this can end well.

Oh Danny. He delivers the speech flawlessly. "We don't get to choose those things" "Acts of hatred also produce acts of love, so you, my friend, will never win."

Oooooooooooh. And I'm crying again.

Ruth knows it's true. She's trying to keep Adam going.

"It's just me . . . and you."

They've made her sit there looking at him. I never realised that before. And now she's alone.

When Harry's talking about grieving and focusing - that's when the relationship between Harry and Ruth goes beyond mere flirtation and becomes something deeper.

Ruth links into what Zaf's saying about the decoy very quickly. I like that - they see things the same way there.

The implanted bomb is the most terrifying thing I've ever seen.

"I've hardly known my son" is such a very very sad statement.

The question of choice - how much choice does one have and how much is predecided - was the focus of the ballet I went to last night. So many many thoughts after that.

Adam's wedding ring is like a male version of the one I want . . .

Oh Ruth. She made me cry again. And Harry loves her so much there. And this episode just KILLS me every single time.
