Another one. The aim is to get through three tonight.

2.6

The previouslies here are the sordid story of Tom's love life, aren't they.

It's the 'gah' dress! And Tom's suave dismissal of Danny's concern over taxis.

While the credits are running, have I ever mentioned how much I love Christine Dale? Just so it's out there. Her entrance through the pods is spectacular.

And Miranda, as well. I recall writing Miranda/Ruth as some sort of dare. I blame [livejournal.com profile] sangerin She's as awful as I remembered. All double speak and nonsense. The more you watch her the more you'd like to throw things at her.

The meeting scene is great - all the code names being flung around the room and the part-bewildered, part-amused looks on our Spooks faces.

The Danny/Zoe coin flipping moment is filmed beautifully.

OOoooh! Look at Ruth watching Tom and Christine!

There's a lot of give and take so far in the episode without any real winners.

Psycho!Vicki really has lost it now - gone completely around the bend. Was there any kind of indication that was coming? Tom's a study of pure panic when a stranger calls him by his real name. I wonder what was going through her mind when she made all those cards and distributed them? I mean, I assume she was breaking the law. Was she that upset that a fairly casual boyfriend dumped her?

Oh Ruth. You can have as much tea as you want. Especially if you and Malcolm continue to hold short, singular word conversations like that.

Love Sam and the drag queens. Wonder what they were thinking.

I think Miranda's trying to set up a division between Danny and Zoe because she's secretly in love with one or both of them.

That little conversation when Christine revealed that it was her first major operation - that's the point when Tom started falling in love with her. Because she wants to prove herself, and he understands that.

"Drop the attitude and move your ass." I've only written two Christine/Zoe fics. Must write more.

I love the way a question which would be perfectly normal for almost everyone, takes on a new meaning to those paranoid spooks. When Zoe questions the President and his sightseeing adventure, you can just see a zillion possibilities flitting through their heads.

Oh I adore Ruth's interview. First she wants to know what everyone else is saying, and then she walks out leaving Miranda shaking her head. Lovely.

Hee. Zoe: "Can I ask you something?" Ruth "Depends" . . .

Miranda is absolutely no match for Sam, is she. They should have sent her in first.

Oh - I really do like the way they've written and directed the 'Why Libya?" scene in the meeting room. With Harry asking the questions and Malcolm answering all but the last one. Then Tom . . .

I'd feel more sympathy for Vicki, but . . . and then Christine's "Have a nice day." She's so lovely and snarky.

The idea of the President dropping everything to play a video game probably wouldn't work on any other President but Bush. I wonder what excuse they would have given if Clinton was Pres *g*

Ruth and her obsession with dirty bombs . . .

Yes. He's turning.

Malcolm gets such a lovely snarl in his voice when he says "Miranda".

Tom and Christine are so lovely at the end of this episode. Christine's almost like a nervous school girl, getting the dream boy. And Tom's laughing, and he's always lovely when he laughs. And Christine lets him forget things.

The "guh!" dress! Of which there are no shots good enough to icon (dangit). And yes, Christine is wondrous beyond words. (Bizarrely, I somehow have Christine equated in my mind with Cec, but that's something for email rather than public discussion...)

No, it was NOT me who dared you to write Ruth/Miranda. I have written Zoe/Miranda (twice!) and I think I did dare you to actually finish the Christine/Mary not!Marsh. And yes, Sam in this episode shows that she's so much smarter than she looks, and I do think that the thing with Tess killed her career.

Christine/Zoe is... oh, how I love it. I love Christine, although I didn't when I saw this ep the first time around. But by the time she left I loved her beyond reason, and I'm still to write Christine/Ainsley.

You have inspired me to re-watch. While I work on a Bill June/Gina retcon. in response to tonight's ep, which is probably June's second last..

So enlighten me....what is the gah! dress?

I'm rewatching too, though am much lazier than you on posting my thoughts. Seeing it all again I am just so impressed by Christine Dale - both actress and character, so I'm glad it's not just me.

I'm really enjoying all your Spooks month, by the way, though hven't had a chance to read some of your fics yet. Will get to it!

The guh/gah dress is [livejournal.com profile] sangerin's name for the really nice dress Zoe is wearing at the beginning of the episode. I seem to have adopted it *g*

Christine Dale is just lovely in this episode- despite her hardness, it's really just a shell. One good hit and she'd crumble.

I'm glad you're enjoying the month - it's been really enjoyable for me too *g*
