Singing the Centrelink Blues
Feb. 24th, 2003 02:59 pmArgh. Gyah. Blah.
Went to Centrelink this morning. I was early, but I had no idea where I was supposed to be, so that was okay. Met up with another Dunkin Donuts ex-employee. Bitched about Dunkin Donuts (Note to self: must make a 'I hate Dunkin Donuts' shirt)
Went into a small room with a big bunch of fairly well presented people. (All wearing shoes, Amanda, must have been the rain) The others ranged in age from a bit younger than me, up to around my father's age (hope they don't have families to look after, Centrelinks not exactly moving fast on us.)
They gave us a crappy pen and made us watch a crappy movie. Then bored the hell out of us and told us that the earliest we would be able to get an appointment is Thursday week. Thursday week!
I still haven't been paid for the last week of work I did, earnt no pay last week, will earn no pay this week, and may be paid on Friday next week. Thank goodness for Liz and the Dunkin Donuts diet.
I intended to come home, hit the couch and watch some videos that would cheer me up, but fat slob was on the couch. Seems that, even though she's just had the weekend off, she just didn't feel like working today, so she chucked a sickie and came home. Gyah!
There goes the video idea.
So I'm in my room, playing the mopable music and laughing at the internet because it makes me feel a little better. I feel like I should write, but there's no muse up there today.
Might rock the suburbs with some Ben for a while.
Might edit and update this a bit later . . .

on 2003-02-24 03:14 am (UTC)If you were wondering, the toy distribution officer was a sales position. I got an interview, but didn't show up. I've dealt with similar operations before. Very dodgy.

on 2003-02-24 02:36 pm (UTC)There was a job at Toombul shopping centre - but it would be with the people who fired Matt from Kebabs, and I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole.

on 2003-02-24 07:32 am (UTC)Current music: Jonotha Brook - Didn't Fool Anyone
What CD is that song from, please, or is it a new CD by her? I love Jonatha Brooke's music, and I'd hate to think that I've missed anything she's done!

on 2003-02-24 06:14 pm (UTC)What about those webpages? Jobseek or whatever? My sister was looking at it a little while ago.. Actually, my sisters old work at Capn Jacks in the wintergarden might be looking for new people. But the people that own and work there are Greek. And I mean 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' greek. I wouldn't want to work there, but if you want I can ask my sister if they need someone?
