Whoa. I take a day away and you guys write so much *g*
So, Thursday. I followed my gut feeling and trundled down to the Valley. There I spent a very happy $130 on Jazz Sneakers. They are wonderful, and I can't wait to actually dance in them today, rather than just prancing around the house in them *g* Then I walked to Matt's work and we went and had lunch together and picked out some presents for his mother's birthday. Then I spent too much money at JB Hi Fi and Borders.
But I feel okay about all the money spending since Shiny!School rang me and gave me work yesterday and for Monday. Both in Year 7 which I'm really enjoying at the moment. The kids were great yesterday - we had sport so there wasn't a whole lot of 'teaching'. And I was a softball umpire - dodgy decisions are go *g* And when I arrived in the morning, they booked me in for Tuesday as well - a grade 3 class this time. *hugs shiny!school*
It occurs to me that I haven't got a system for descibing the schools I teach at. The main four at the moment are shiny!school, which is a short train ride away and about 20 minutes walk from where some close friends live. It's a wonderful school, with lovely, fairly well behaved kids and a wonderful staff. Then there's the rich!school down in Brisbane, which is lovely, but has a lot of money behind it (the year 7s all have 'senior jerseys' just like a lot of high schools have). Then there's nearby!school where the students are either lovely or horrors unlike anything you've seen before. Then there's dreaded!school where I haven't had a decent class yet.
Today is dancing, and the pressure's beginning to hit. Costumes are going well, but dances are a bit shaky. We'll get through it though - we always do.
So, with NaNo beginning next week, concert coming up and all this work coming in, I'll be pretty absent for a while. I'll try for short updates and reading my friends page *g*
