Firefly!

So, I've watched Firefly up to halfway through Ariel and I intend to watch the rest today. Some things . . .

1. It's a new fandom. No doubts about this. Sold me from the first 'shiny'
2. I want to write fic. Just get me to the end of the episodes and there will be fic. With many pairings.
3. Shiny
4. I love all the characters. All of them. But my heart seems to hold special places for Jayne and Kaylee.
5. Shiny.
6. I will be reading fic. I'm sure there's lots of fic without Serenity spoilers out there. Which the kind people on my friends list will rec to me *g*
7. Did I mention that it's shiny?

The fandom seems very civilised about spoilers -- because of the way the movie was promoted, with lots of advance screenings across America, everyone has been very careful, and apparently sees little reason to change before the DVD comes out.

scene in the "real" pilot when Kaylee's been shot and Jayne is all huddled up outside sickbay looking in the window from where no one can see him. arguably one of the best shots in the series for characterization.

You like Jayne? Ugh. He makes me want to run away. Kaylee on the other hand is utterly gorgeous and delightful and adorable. And also was very fun confusing people with whether I was going on a Kaylee rant or a Keeley rant. (*g*)

I haven't written flat post-Serenity fic... most of my Firefly is crossovers with BtVS, and those for femslash_minis, and all of them River-focused. There may be post-Serenity *hints* though, so check the warnings that I've written at the time.

I'll think about recs of other people's fic for you: wisdomeagle and glossing have both written some fabulous stuff.

Eee, Firefly! It's wonderful and Kaylee is my favourite too. She's just too adorable.

I worked it out while watching Objects in Space - Jayne and River are the most tactile of all on Serenity - they both need to touch, feel and generally investigate things. And she used a big old butchers knife on him . . . *g*
