I've decided to abandon that silly Tearstains universe. Snape/Hermione? What is this foolishness?
missmartin has showed us the way, and it is Harry/Sorting Hat.
But why let all my Snape/Hermione fics go to waste?

Summary: Harry sits in the Headmaster's office, reminded of the past.

“I've had lovers before.” He sat on the shelf, and Harry was reminded of his first Sorting.
And now . . .
Now his Sorting Hat was telling him about his former lovers. Telling him about the lovers he had before him.
He was sitting behind the desk, dressed in his usual robes: not as gaudy as Dumbledore's nor as austere as Snape's.
He was the Headmaster, now.
The Headmaster had a special bond with his school.
“I should expect you've had other lovers. Once you've reached a certain age, it seems inevitable.”
The Hat raised his brim. There were times, less frequent as they grew closer, that he treated him like he was still a child. Harry realised that this was going to be one of those times, that the hat would talk down to him, until he was able to talk him out of his mood.
It was a small price to pay for what the Hat could give him.
“I had my first lover when Godric Gryffindor was still alive, when I was first being charmed.”
It was nothing new, Harry thought, as he watched him delve back into his memories.
“Actually, he was a Slytherin.”
“Really?”
“It would have been a rather big scandal if anyone had found out.”
“What happened to him?”
“We broke up. He had ... philosophical issues with certain school policies.”
Harry kissed the hat's brim and wrapped stroked his fabric.
"Why did you tell me about him?"
“I just wanted you to know that I'd had lovers before, that I wasn't some soulless, inanimate creature.” His voice dropped to a whisper. “I like to remember that there was a time when I wasn't a Sorting Hat.”
“You know that physical form doesn't matter. Surely if the squid...”
“People will always consider me to be a hat. The stigma is deeper than the stitching.”
Harry shivered. “I don't think of you as an inanimate object. You're just a Sorting Hat, with an extreme dislike of people who don't appreciate your music.”
“Did I mention that I've had other lovers . . ?”
For the record,
lizbee only had one drink. And she's not really a Harry/Sorting Hat shipper. And come to think of it, she suspects that the giant squid's sex life isn't half as interesting as most people like to make out.
