Big Scary Interview
Aug. 29th, 2005 07:58 amSo it's not 8am yet, and I'm at uni finishing up my portfolio.
I'm not sure if I've explained this. See, on Wednesday I have my big, scary, interview. This is the interview that determines my 'rating'. The 'rating' then decides whether any one would want to hire me for a teaching job next year.
So basically, my chance of getting a teaching job rests on about 45 minutes to an hour of interview.
The interview is with my (fantastic) supervising teacher and the deputy principal of the school where I did my last prac. I know that they'll both be fair on me, and I know that - worst comes to worst - I do a heap of supply work next year and earn some money that way. I know that I'm prepared, and that I've got nothing to be scared about.
But, honestly, this is the scariest thing I've ever done in my life.
Bring on Thursday already!

on 2005-08-29 12:37 am (UTC)I have to give a presentation on the One Book One Brisbane campaign on Wednesday -- the woman who runs it. *facepalm*
Apparently we're seeing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on Thursday night, though -- wanna come?

on 2005-08-29 04:12 am (UTC)My housemate had hers at the end of last semester, and she went fine - got her S1, which she was very happy about. She got her first job offer last week, in Roma teaching grade 8, 9 and 10 Maths for a full time, permanent position... but she declined it because she doesn't want to teach high school.

on 2005-08-29 07:07 am (UTC)Unless things are hugely different in the city you're in, I can't see any reasons why they wouldn't recommend you. Even if you're (understandably) nervous in the interview & not at your best, they *know* you at your best.
