So I'm working on assignments rather grumpily. I went to JB Hi Fi to pick up the new collectors version of Songs for Silverman. Except that it's been held up and won't be in until sometime during the week. The regular version was there, but would have been a waste of money, since I want the collector's version. I consoled myself with the re-released version of Whatever and Ever Amen which contains the Japanese version of Song for the Dumped which is the funniest thing in the world.

My computer hates me and wouldn't save my assignment, so Matt saved the day by retyping my assignment on his computer and then connecting my printer so I can print it. He's brilliant.

There's still favourite characters to guess. My clues are that you've missing a grumpy Capricorn, a man who walks, a book geek, a girl who meets unexpected people, and a girl who dances. *g* Fun for everyone.

Favourite book meme

Take five of your favourite books and post the first sentence for your f.list to guess the title.

1. I sat back in my chair, jabbed the cap onto my pen, threw it into the drawer, and abandoned myself to the flood of satisfaction, relief, and anticipation that was let loose by that simple action. Mounstrous Regiment of Women Picked by [livejournal.com profile] lizbee

2. For the first fifteen years of our lives, Danny and I lived within five blocks of each other and neither of us knew of the other's existence. The Chosen Picked by [livejournal.com profile] bookaholicgirl

3. This is what happened. (Clue: Australian Author)

4. It's the same dream. (Clue: Australian Author)

5. When I was little, my uncle Pete had a necktie with a porcupine painted on it. (Clue: Teenage book)

1. is Monstrous Regiment of Women by Laurie R. King, and I know because I'm rereading it myself. Also, I'd know those long sentences anywhere.

Have you read The Game yet?

And have you done my beta? This is a question expecting the answer "no", which would be ideal. If you haven't started it yet, I'll edit it according to [livejournal.com profile] cesario and [livejournal.com profile] prof_pangaea's suggestions and send the final version to you.

And you should go read this, now. Because I don't want to be alone in my brain-breakage.

Oh, you beat me to it... I thought I might be the only one who'd guess that the line was from MREG; apparently I was wrong. :) This means you're interested in Laurie R. King, and--since it's a rare delight to find fellow Mary Russell readers--I'd really like to friend you; may I?

Friend away. In the last couple of months I somehow went from being a "Mary Russell? Oh yeah, I like those books a lot" type fan to a raging "OMG RUSSELL YAY" type fan.

There's even fic being written. I'm starting to scare myself, albeit in a smug "I've written the first femmeslash in this fandom" way.

*g* I knew you'd be the one to get this. In fact I'd be severly disappointed if you didn't.

And, no beta yet. I'm just trying to get through this weeks assignment. If that goes like it should I can beta this weekend (no dancing)

...why didn't I get an email with this comment? *stares* Luckily, I'm stalking you.

I wasn't asking for the sake of hassling, I just wanted to know what you thought of it. And the teaser for Locked Rooms.

My mother liked the early ones, but gets stuck on novels with slow openings. Which Game definitely had, although I actually liked the ship-board scenes best.
