Jan. 13th, 2003 10:51 pmIt's time to give up ff.net and make my own web page.
Due to an alleged 'infraction' - I am not allowed to post a story until the 16th January on ff.net.
The 'infraction' was a story named 'Twenty Six Ways to Find Lonliness' - because ff.net believed it was a list rather than a story.
However, it was a story, written in the style of a list - with CJ going through her A to Z of lovers. It was influenced by the Susan Minot story - 'Lust' - and I belive if I were to submit in under a different name, it would not be taken off.
But there seems to be no appeal system for ff.net.
Makes me want to hermit myself away in some corner of fandom where only my friends and people who look for me can find me.
Anyway - enough rambling. Here's the story I was trying to post on ff.net. Called, The Message - it's part of my soon to be declared and described Tear Stains Universe.
Title: The Message

The message was attached to the leg of a big brown owl.
It came on thick, cream coloured parchment, addressed in green ink.
It was carried between shaking fingers, passed from a son to a mother.
It was opened by worn fingers, gentler than the rumours and stories could have possibly allowed for.
It was read by a pair of eyes that had seen too much, that had gone through too much, that didn't want to see any of it anymore.
It was dropped to the ground with a scream too loud for an old woman.
It was picked up by her sane son, by the son who still knew what her name was.
Dear Mrs. Longbottom
We regret to tell you that your Grandson, Neville Longbottom . . .
