Well. That's over. Random thoughts.

-I listened to the debate on radio, while Matt watched it on television. Howard sounded so breathy at the beginning, I thought he was about to drop dead. I ran out to the living room, but he was still standing.

-I miss the worm

-I think I prefer Latham's idea of a town-hall type debate. I would have liked to hear 'real' people ask 'real' questions, where there may not be a rehearsed answer.

-I've heard some of John Howard's answers before. Does that man have an inch of spontenaity?

-If Downer, Anderson and Costello are the one's leading us, then we're doooooomed. Two of them can't pull their feet from their mouths, while the other one can't get it in there because he's busy smirking.

-Abbott, Nelson and Vandstone are going to be pissed that they weren't mentioned. Tony's going to throw a tantrum, Brenden's going to pout, and Amanda's going to beat up Alexander Downer. (And she'll win)

-Latham talked about students studying. 'Hi Mark!' (Goes back to writing inane paragraphs about parenting)

-Howard talks about values in schools. (Boo! Hiss!) I actually wrote to my local candidate on this one. The values include trustworthiness. He hasn't written back to my latest email.

-Matt enters my room. "You know what I've learnt from this?" I look up, eyes crossed from too many tables on parenting knowledge. "Nothing?" I guessed. "Man is not a zigguarat." he replied. Okay.

-I think Latham won. And I liked his tie. John Howard needs to take a valium before he debates. Or pot. Because that would be funny.

If nothing else, Labor gets my vote for reducing the age of independence from 25 to 23. Also, godfather. Writing policy. Etc.

You might be pleased to hear that Downer could lose his seat -- according to my great-aunt, who lives there, it's being contested by a former magistrate who lost his son in Bali -- in addition to a strong ALP campaign, he's arguing that Downer was lax in his duties as Foreign Minister.

:snort: over so many things.
Howard looked nervous, whereas Latham was looking impressive and people have now got a better look at him.
Still not hopefull, but more than I was.
