A fannish New Years Meme

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
More. A lot more. Having glandular fever at the beginning of the year gave me a lot of time to watch videos and read books as well as writing. I've written less in the second half of the year as I was getting better.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2002?
Oh - anything that wasn't West Wing. Harry Potter being the biggest of course - I just couldn't see fiction in it at the beginning of the year. Angel, Buffy, M*A*S*H and pokes at Sweet Valley, Baby Sitters Club and Enid Blyton.
Then I wrote Hermione/Snape, an unfinished Josh/Wesley and Lily/Lucius. It was a big year for new things. (Seeing as I've only written for 1 and 1/2 years, it's to be expected.)
What's your favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest.
I can't pick just one. Sorry.
Thin Whine Through Sober Eyes was a biggie. I love Toby and I think I nailed him here. I made him old and I still liked him and I like that.
The Dark Room is the other one. Lily/Lucius, my first real smutty story, characterisations that I really enjoyed, and darkness, a new big element in my story writing. It must come with age.
Did you take any writing risks this year? (See above for unexpected pairings, etc.) What did you learn from them?
I learnt to put more of myself into stories. Not in a Mary-Sue-ish way, but just to make sure the emotion was real. I learnt that sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, but it's sure fun trying.
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
I want to keep learning, to keep improving. I'd like to finish more good stories and not get scared off my big things. I want to write at least one piece of m/m slash so I can say I've done it. I want to continue having fun with fiction.
