What a day . . .

melwilI had a class at 8am this morning. It started on time and was going great.
At about 8.30am the lights flickered and died, leaving only emergency lights. The projector wasn't working (while we were watching a video on Stalin and Gulags. The lecturer turned the video off and Sesame Street was on. I want a Gulag Elmo . . .)
The other lecturer called someone up. Apparently contractors had cut through the main power cable to QUT Kelvin Grove.
When the Power Point stopped at 9am, the lecturer abandoned ship and we were dismissed. My next lecture wasn't until 4pm.
I went to the refec and watched the people avoid the sushi and talked to some people about an assignment until the lights cam on about 12pm.
Then H- and I decided to go to the library and try to get some work done. We chatted for a while and then went to work . . .
At which point the fire alarms went off and we were all evacuated. Well, once they could find a working fire escape we were evacuated. We hung around while fireys came in. Then they said the library was okay, but by then the study idea was old and we decided to go back to the refec until class.
At least Maths was fine, even if it was devoid of air conditioning.
