Mar. 4th, 2004 09:14 pmAnother day of uni - classroom management today. Was slightly less than enthused. I think this week is catching up on me. Tomorrow I have two hours of maths.
~*~
I was calling centrelink this afternoon and they put me on hold. A long hold. So I decided to pick up my knitting and knit while I waited. Finally I get through
Centrelink operator: How can I help you?
Me: I need to report my earnings for the fortnight
CO: Um, what benifit are you getting?
Me: Youth Allowance.
CO: Well they've put you through to retirement. Just wait a second and I'll transfer you over . . .
Sure, I was knitting, but I'm not that old!
~*~
I was trying to devise a lesson plan for grade fives about democracy in Ancient Greece. I was thinking about how, after explaining and comparing it to today's democracy, you could create a mini Ostracism. You could put four identities up and the students would have to vote on which one was most dangerous. Or you could practise drawing lots . . .
~*~
I ventured into the exciting world of reading unreced Harry Potter fan fic tonight. Just for record, I will close the story if in the first paragraph a Mary-Sue is referred to by full name and power, or someone uses the term 'Prongsie'
