melwilFriday was orientation at the university - otherwise known as 'how much information can they throw at us without our brains exploding?'. I'm really excited though - I've spent two years waiting to get back into something I want to do.
Friday afternoon and Saturday morning wass ballet. I turned up on Saturday to find a student desperately waiting for me to open up so she could try out a new pair of tap shoes.
Last night, Matt and I went to Zig Zag Street at the Roundhouse theatre - the new home of La Boite. The new theatre is bigger than the old one, but the performing space is about the same size. La Boite perform theatre in the round, and I was impressed at how they put on what was basically a straight story. (The other La Boite performance I've seen was Romeo and Juliet - but it was more stylised) The acting was all good - especially the ones who played Sal/Hillary and Jeff/Greg. The nude dancing scene was hilarious - as long as I forgot that the actor was a brother of one of my uni friends. My only complaints are that the story dragged on a bit at the end and they changed an (unseen) character's name from Melina to Melissa!
This morning I went to church and spent the sermon feeling rather uncomfortable.
Tomorrow is uni!!! SOSE (Studies of Society and the Environment) Lecture and tutorial.
