I had a 7.30am start today which required me to wake at 5.40am (one hour to wake, half an hour to get to work, enough time to help out person who works before me). Normally I wouldn't mind; I'm good at waking early, I get myself moving pretty quickly, but I seemed unusually down this morning and I didn't know why. Probably because I was tired, I was also reacting to last night's Buffy a little, and just with all the RL stuff going on.

Anyway, I did my half hour walk and turned up at work finding that my spirits had suddenly risen. A lot. To the point where I was singing and dancing around. It scares me a little to think that my work lifts my spirits . . .

I went and visited my grandmother this afternoon who had very good news: she might be out of hospital by Thursday, Friday at the latest. She's recovering extremely well - all the tubes have been removed and she's eating and walking around and probably organising everyone into some nefarious plot. And watching the Bill. She had some great stories to tell me, including a great one about how she and my great grandmother had to travel from Melbourne to Brisbane and up to Marybourough on the train during the last years of the second world war.

Just realised that Matt and I have 'officially' been together one year and eleven months. Which means it's time to think of a present to give him next month for our two years. Any ideas?
