Gacked from [livejournal.com profile] sangerin with information supplied from my trusty 'Job Seeker Diary'

Since 1 January, 2003;

The number of applications submitted: 41
Number rejected outright (without interview): 4
Number of those for which the only response was silence: 30

Number of interviews: 4
Number of applications rejected after first-stage interview in a multi-stage process: 0
Number of applications rejected after interview in a single interview process: 2
Number of applications where I'm still in the running after the first interview, as of the date of posting: 1

Number of submitted applications currently pending response: 5
Number of applications not yet complete that I intend to submit in the near future: 10 for the next fortnight

This looks like a lot, but because I'm claiming New Start the government makes me find the 10 jobs each fortnight. The scary number though is the number of silent employers - 30 out of 41 is rather ridiculous.

In other news, I think we got the wrong paper delivered to us today. Must go to schops soon anyway to buy clothes. Why? Well, good news actually . . .

I HAVE A JOB TRIAL ON TUESDAY!!!!

Sorry for shouting. But I've been unemplyed for two and a half months now and enough is enough. It's a cafe/takeaway kind of place and I probably will still look for other things - but a job is like gold at the moment.

Good Luck! I was unemployed for 5 months last year, it sucked on soooo many levels.

Yeah, I don't understand those silent employers. Makes me feel like writing another letter saying, "Didn't your mothers teach you it's rude not to answer correspondence?"

Yay, Mel! Good luck for Tuesday.

And if I might be permitted a sad eighties TV reference, the way that potential employers treat us potential employees is "so rude!"

Yay! Random Olsen Twin quoting!

Are you a wibbler in disguise?

Nope, wrong city. But I do owe [livejournal.com profile] lizbee a great big block of chocolate if she ever gets this far south, so maybe I count as a wibbler enabler or some such.

Then again, there's a bunch of Sydneysiders that could be classified as the Sydney Wibblers, and I'm definitely an honourary member of that mob!
