I was really very angry and then I read about [livejournal.com profile] lizbees brother and I felt happy again.

I've spent the weekend in the 'Chester. On Saturday night we watched Monarch of the Glen and then taped The Bill for my grandmother and then watched CoS. My sisters and I were making Snarky comments while Mum and Dad are telling us to be quiet because they haven't seen it yet . . .

Yesterday was a big eat and eat and then eat some more day. A big breakfast reading and watching videos all day and then a huge dinner. Today, my dad put me to work, scanning the minutes of the Beerwah Cricket Club from 1966 to 1969. (By the way, a ticket to the Beerwah Cricket Ball would have cost you a dollar for gents and only eighty cents for ladies) I had a really good time . . .

Hmm. Harry Potter is only for children. Yuk, yuk, yuk etc etc. I'm sure my grandparents would love to know that they're children (actually they can be quite childish - they used to own and run a toy museum - but that's another story). Here's an article for those who believe that you shouldn't read children's books - Here

I'm a big fan of children's books and I spend quite a bit of time trying to build up my collection. I own all of the Anne of Green Gable books, Heidi, Seven Little Australians, Harry Potter, most of the Paula Danziger books and a large collection of Enid Blyton books among others. Children's books can be well written, excellent reads - no more escapist than sci-fi or fantasy. But of course, books require reading and possibly basic literacy.

I realise that Hermione/Snape can be a tricky paiting for a lot of people - which is one reason that Hermione is much older in Tearstains (also, it just seemed to fit the story better). I was thinking about putting up a rec page of well written younger/older relationships in fandom. Any suggestions?
