2006 in meme form . . .

1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?

I was a supply teacher. I got my driver's license. I used my subscription to the Queensland ballet.

2. Did you keep your New Years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

I resolved to read 'new books' - to stop rereading all the time. And I was remarkably successful, though more so at the beginning of the year. Next year will be all about being organised, especially with Matt away.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

Nope

4. Did anyone close to you die?

Nope

5. What countries did you visit?

None *g*

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?

Money *g* A constant job (my term 1 job confirmation is sitting in front of me!) A car. Saved money for a house deposit

7. What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

Febuary 24 is the day I got my license.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

The license. Getting through some really horrible days of supply teaching without crying. Getting better at the cleaning thing. Getting quite good at the cooking thing. Putting together a truly excellent dance concert this year.

9. What was your biggest failure?

Failure to keep in touch with people. Putting things off.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

Nothing serious, thank goodness. I had to have a tooth removed after a bad toothache.

Not bought, but Matt and I moved into this wonderful house. And then we got some wonderful furniture. We're real grown ups *g*

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?

My dancing students. Grade 7 students at Bald Hills State School. The people who continue to fight for freedom from governments who tell us they're restricting our freedoms for our safety. My wonderous friends.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?

The leaders of my country. The leaders of other countries. Grade 7s at some other schools, and the school administrations who refuse to deal with them. Political leaders who continue to beat up on teachers without ever realising what goes on inside the classroom. Education departments who want units that are wide and reaching and allow all students to acheive, and report cards that want simple A to E gradings without any real comments that tell parents anything.

14. Where did most of your money go?

Books. Food. Barbies.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

The Queensland Ballet - they were simply magnificent this year, and every performance thrilled me. Teaching. Ballet.
