Things I've done that you may not have done

1. Had a snowball fight with my sisters and total strangers on the bank of the Rio Grande
2. Dressed in a giant foam sun costume and danced around a shopping centre
3. At various times have danced as Peter Pan, Judge Claude Frollo and Gaston
4. Failed my Elementary RAD ballet exam three times
4. Graduated from university before my 20th birthday
5. Run a small dance school and 6 dance concerts
6. Cleaned a major food court after a fire in one of the stores two days after Christmas . . .
7. Fought a battle against a university on behalf of left-handers

Yeah. That's about it.

I'm thinking about starting a meme. We could all post the most unreadable sentence from academic textbooks and articles. I've got a couple of really good ones to contribute.

ok, you're gonna have to give me details of #7. i'm all intrigued now.

i don't know about academic books and articles, but later today i'm going to post a sample sentence from this novel i'm reading. and by 'sample' i mean it's representative of the rest of the sentences, it's not just one randomly unique sentence.

For one of my exams last year they put me in a lecture theatre that only had those annoying 'attached to chair' desks for right handers. There were no left handed chairs at all in the room. I emailed them, complaining about equity issues and threatened them a little with the discrimination act. They gave me a new exam room with real desks *g*

well done!
we have those attached-to things. i think most of the rooms have a small section with left handed desks, but it is stupid to put exams in those rooms.

At UQ they had left-handed desks down one side of the room. Made life a little bit easier, even if people were climbing over you.

At QUT there are none in the lecture theatres. There are a couple in tutorial rooms though.

tutorial rooms have chairs with thingies? ours are just like classrooms with single tables and chairs.

exciting stuff to compare, i know. my life is really this boring :)

*g* One of the tutorial rooms I was in last year did. All these chairs with desks attached. It's like a nightmare.

I think the room is probably used from time to time by the really strange drama students.

Single desks in tutorial rooms was a little strange to me. At QUT I was from the incredibly poor part of the Bachelor of Arts people (Ancient History, Philosophy, History) and we had these really old tables with old chairs. Almost immovable

ooh ... Academic texts that make no sense *nods*. My cor 109 text book - it has some moments where your just left there going - huh?

Mum and I managed to work it out - they were talking about 'communication' as if it were a person - makeing it seem strange.
