So, Thursday. I came home from uni and curled up on the couch with stomach pain. This isn't unusual - as my friends all know - but it was stronger than the usual bout of reflux.
By the time we got through dinner I was curled up in bed, examining the lump just under my skin on my stpmach.
Matt comes in "If that hurts tomorrow, you better go see a doctor."
So, Friday
7am - doctor. He suggests I have a hernia and sends to the the Royal Brisbane Hospital (RBH)
8.15 am - ER waiting room. RBH
10.15 am - finally see someone
11am - Examination stops. Waitinng
12.15pm - walk to ultra sound. Confuse the hell out of doctors there
12.45pm - ER waiting room, RBH - I hate doctor Phil
1.50 - see by doctor again
3.45 - seen by surgeons - surgery arranged for that night. It is definately a hernia and it needs fixing
4.10 - moved to a bed in the ER short stay ward
8pm - moved to a ward, in tears from tiredness and waiting
during waiting in ward, I am sick - but the morphine's pretty
Sometime after midnight - finally moved to surgery
It was the longest, most painful and most frustrating day I can remember.
Sorry I can't read/reply to your journals as much as I want to. My eyes are still a little unfocused and this is not a comfortable chair to sit in with the stitches in my stomach. Good news is - I am basically fine now, and at home
