“Ginny, dear, are you sure you've thought about this . . . this relationship with Harry?”
“I thought you liked him Mum. You've always said he was just one of the family. You're the same, Dad.”
“I know sweetheart, and he is just like one of the family, but dating him is another matter. For one thing, he's famous. The older he gets, the more everyone will want a piece of him. Are you sure you can share him like that?”
“Dad-”
“And he's Ron's best friend, Ginny. Have you thought about how Ron will feel? About whether it will effect their friendship? What if you break up?”
“Mum, we haven't even gone out yet and you're talking about us breaking up! Honestly-!”
“Most of all Ginny, Harry has a lot of enemies. There's a lot of wizards out there who wouldn't mind hurting him anyway they could, even if it meant hurting those that he loves.”
“It's bad enough with Ron as his best friend, but Ron's been fighting alongside Harry since he was twelve. You haven't got that kind of experiance.”
“Or training.”
“And now, what with Fred still recouperating, and Percy . . .”
Ginny avoided her parents' eyes. She didn't want to talk about Percy. “You sound like you don't want me to be happy at all.” She complained.
“I'm sorry Ginny.” Her mother sighed. “We do want you to be happy. It's just - well we also want you to be safe

In other news - I was thinking about M*A*S*H and HP today and was struck with a thought - Colonel Sherman Potter was actually a member of the illustrious Potter wizarding family (American branch) but turned out to be a squib, who had his memory obliviated and was then encouraged to join the Cavalry for WW1.
Well it made me laugh outloud and look like a lunatic walking down Nursery Road.
