Labor to boost teacher pay at schools of hard knocks

Apologising bullies and enforced patriotism. That's the best you've got for our schools? For our education system? In a system which is slowly being eaten by the mind-numbing, non thinking hum of standardised testing. Where I heard of a class with 36 students and one teacher yesterday. Where schools have $50 a year, total, to spend on computer repairs and maintenance. Where kids are terrified that they won't be able to afford university because mummy and daddy aren't rich, and the public school they go to doesn't have the resources to ensure they'll get a good OP.

Forcing bullies to apologise doesn't address underlying problems. Forcing kids to salute the flag doesn't make them good Australians.

Lying rodents, the lot of them.
