I took my class from 11.45 to 3pm yesterday (with a half hour lunch). My teacher was there in the classroom, and we have a teacher's aide for a little while, but I did it all on my own!

It was so good. The kids are right into butterflies at the moment, so a lesson on symmetry fitted right in. First, we looked at what symmetry is, and where you might find it. Then we split into four groups to rotate. One group did a maths worksheet, another played with mirrors and shapes, another made butterfly paintings and the last group made butterflies popping out of cocoons. We also looked at other things that were symmetrical and drew an imaginary line down the middle of one of the students, who couldn't stop laughing the whole time.

My voice was much better - my teacher said I was beginning to sound like a teacher.

I got an assignment back on Tuesday - and then I wondered when did a 6 (out of a possible 7) become average for me. I haven't got a mark less than 6 yet. Which is strange, because I find this stuff much harder than my arts degree.
