Strange Ficlet

I've been trying to write an uncomfortable dinner party fic for lizbee. It's not working. Mostly because I keep coming up with things like this:

"I think we should have people over for dinner."

Hermione raised an eyebrow. "You don't like people, Severus."

"I'm talking about my daughter . . ."

"You're only moderately fond of her."

" . . .and her boyfriend."

"You definately don't like him. Mutual hatred, I believe."

"We could have some wine."

"Remind me to hide the knives."

So, Liz, I'm working on it.

Sinus pain again. Following Liz's lead, I might call it Fred.
