Ah Bach . . .
Feb. 23rd, 2004 06:55 amThe heat broke for us last night with huge winds, lightning, thunder and eventually rain. It's still warm, but after yesterday's heat . . .
Church yesterday was interesting. The heat meant numbers were down, lots of water was available and the sermon was a little shorter than usual (but really fantastic). I was reading yesterday (you can hear me here - go to weekly streaming broadcast and click on bible reading) which was interesting as I often muddle words when it's hot.
On the way home I realised I was feeling car sick, which was definately unusual (I usually only feel car sick when I'm reading), even after drinking water at home I was feeling ill, and dizzy and generally horrible. A few cold showers and water and some food and I was better, but still incredibly hot.
Of course, being the smart person I am, I had to chose the hottest time of the day (when temperature was almost 42 degrees celcius) to walk up to the shops. The air conditioning was nice, but walking home wasn't.
So that's enough complaining. Heat seems to be over for a while.
