So, I did two hours of work this morning from 5.30am to 7.30am because - well because I'm insane.
Part of the open is cooking doughnbuts in very hot (180 degress celcius or so) oil, before throwing them in cinnamon and piping jam into them.
It was all going well and I was just flipping one of the second batch over when disaster stuck. The doughnut splashed down too heavily, sending oil up over the tongs I was using, and all over the back of my right hand.
I screamed. Loudly. The bakers were concerned. I ran cold water on it, and then had to go get on with it. So now I've got all these red burn marks over the back of my hand and it's sore and difficult to use and I'm just thankful that I'm left handed.
I think the doughnuts are out to get me . . .
